by richmonddogs on February 22, 2010 · 0 comments

WOW! Did we ever have a GREAT time at The Henrico Humane Society’s 11th Annual Pet Expo this past Saturday! We almost came home with a new adopted puppy, but someone beat us to it. (whew!)

It was a fantastic event and we have the pictures to prove it!

Congratulations to Coretta Lankford, who won our drawing for a $25 PetSmart gift certificate! Thanks to all the pet lovers who stopped by our booth!

Just once, I’d like to see the illustrious Westminster Dog Show “Best In Show” crown go to a Mutt.

You know, a “real dog”—one that is so well-mixed you can’t even guess at it’s origins.

Why? Why not? Who’s to say a purebred is any better than a mixed-breed dog? It’s actually been my experience that the reverse is true.

Now, I mean no disrespect to Sadie, the Scottish Terrier, who actually won “Best in Show” at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show this week. Nor do I doubt that any of the fine upstanding pure-breeds in competition were not deserving of their honored titles.

I’d just like to see some mutts in the mix. Who’s with me?

A dog limits her time in the bathroom to a quick drink.
A dog never expects you to phone.
A dog will not get mad if you forget her birthday.
A dog does not care about [...]
